Flat2VR Studios' parent company, Impact Reality, has closed a $5 million private funding round backed in part by Hartmann Capital and is now opening reservations to retail investors through an equity crowdfunding campaign on StartEngine.
The raise lands at a rough moment for VR as a category — Meta's Reality Labs posted a $4.62 billion operating loss for Q2 2026, and four separate VR studios shut down in a single week this past July. Impact Reality's pitch leans on its release slate as a counterpoint, pointing to titles like Trombone Champ: Unflattened, WRATH: Aeon of Ruin VR, Roboquest VR, FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR, and the newly announced System Shock VR and High On Life VR ports.
Former PlayStation Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida has joined as an advisor to the company's new "Unlock the Vault" publishing initiative, alongside Ryan Biniecki, Rob Pearson, and Bryan Paul. As with any early-stage equity campaign, a reservation isn't an investment — it's a first step toward one.
